Job summary

Manpower in Feltham is hiring a Workshop Team Leader / Workflow Specialist for Aircraft Wheels & Brakes. You will oversee daily workshop operations, drive turnaround performance, and ensure strict regulatory compliance in an aviation-standard environment.

The role requires 3-5 years of aviation MRO experience (wheels/brakes), 1-2 years in leadership or planning, and strong knowledge of EASA Part 145/CAA rules, plus Lean or Six Sigma and ERP/MRO tools.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of aviation MRO experience on wheels/brakes or landing gear components.
• 1-2 years in a team leadership, supervisor or production planning role.
• Strong working knowledge of EASA Part 145, FAA Part 145, or local CAA frameworks.
• Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement to improve workshop efficiency.
• Proficiency with aviation ERP/MRO systems (Quantum, AMOS, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication with technicians and upper management; safety-focused mindset.
• Ability to work in a manual workshop environment, lifting heavy components.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily and weekly workshop tasks based on incoming asset backlogs and customer priority.
• Streamline workflow across cleaning, NDT, machining, inspection and final assembly.
• Drive KPIs to reduce turnaround time (TAT) and maximize output.
• Coordinate with stores to ensure parts, repair kits and consumables are available before production begins.
• Supervise technicians and support staff—assigning tasks, motivating the team and maintaining performance.
• Enforce EHS and 5S standards across the workshop.
• Identify skill gaps, coordinate technical training, and support competency sign-offs.
• Ensure completion of maintenance release tags, teardown reports and logbooks.
• Verify all work aligns with current CMMs and airworthiness directives.
• Oversee calibration tracking for specialised workshop tooling.
