Job summary

Manpower UK in Feltham is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Technician. You will oversee daily workshop operations for Aircraft Wheels & Brakes, drive turnaround performance, and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires coordinating with stores, supervising staff, and enforcing safety and 5S standards. You should have 3-5 years of aviation MRO experience, 1-2 years in a leadership or production-planning role, and strong knowledge of EASA/FAA/CAA frameworks.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of aviation MRO experience on wheels/brakes is desired.
• 1-2 years in a team leader or production planning role is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of EASA Part 145, FAA Part 145 or local CAA rules.
• Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRO systems and Excel.
• Excellent communication and a safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily and weekly workshop tasks based on asset backlogs and priorities.
• Streamline workflow across cleaning, NDT, machining, inspection and assembly.
• Drive KPIs to reduce turnaround time and maximise output.
• Coordinate with stores to ensure parts and consumables are available before production.
• Supervise technicians and support staff, assigning tasks and motivating the team.
• Enforce EHS and 5S standards across the workshop.
• Identify skill gaps and coordinate technical training and sign-offs.
• Ensure maintenance release tags, teardown reports and logbooks are complete.
• Verify work aligns with CMMs and airworthiness directives.
• Oversee calibration tracking for tooling and support audits.
