Job summary

CAE is seeking a Training Manager at our London Gatwick Training Centre (Crawley) to supervise and deliver flight training across the simulator fleet and region. You will report to the Manager Training Services, ensuring safe, compliant operations and high customer satisfaction.

Your role combines management with active simulator instruction, providing leadership, instructor development, and customer support while maintaining instructional competency within the training programme.

Qualifications

• Professional pilot licence (CPL/ATPL or equivalent) desirable
• Simulator Flight Instructor (SFI) or TRI qualification desirable
• Extensive aviation training and flight experience required
• Knowledge of aviation regulations and ATO processes required
• Experience overseeing instructors and training delivery preferred
• Experience maintaining training records and regulatory compliance
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proficiency with MS Office suite, especially Word/Excel/PowerPoint
• Ability to work flexible schedules and travel within region
• Fluent English written and spoken

Responsibilities

• Oversee training programmes to support delivery, satisfaction, instructor utilisation, and business objectives.
• Deliver simulator instruction compliant with training programmes and regulatory standards.
• Maintain training records and regulatory documentation accurately.
• Coordinate scheduling to ensure instructor allocation and coverage.
• Ensure adherence to approved processes, manuals, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with technical staff to support simulator serviceability.
• Support customer and sales activities as needed.
• Manage instructors, qualifications, and currency requirements.
• Conduct observations, assessments, and competency reviews of instructors.
• Lead standardisation initiatives and trainer meetings.
• Contribute to workforce planning and staffing recommendations.
• Prepare training courses and ensure materials are ready before start.
• Contribute to curriculum and material development.
• Monitor trainee progress and address performance concerns as needed.
• Support CAO/ATO compliance and training manuals requirements.
• Perform other duties to ensure safe, compliant training delivery.
