Job summary

GE Aerospace in Cheltenham offers a 3.5-year Test Technician Apprentice rotation within its Manufacturing Supply Chain. You will train to become a Test Technician, fault-finding down to component level, while pursuing a Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship and an HNC/D with Gloucestershire Engineering Training.

You will learn to operate manual and automated test equipment, support quality investigations, read complex circuit diagrams, and ensure compliant paperwork.

Qualifications

• Achieved, or predicted, 4x GCSEs including Maths and English at grades C/4 or above.
• Level 2 qualification equivalent to minimum of 4x GCSE, including Maths and English at grades C/4.
• 3x A-Levels (or equivalent), including Maths or Engineering, at grades C or above.
• Level 3 qualification (BTEC, T-Level or equivalent) in Engineering / Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Study Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship with GET, including weekly college release and on-site placements.
• Train in using manual and automated test equipment and support quality investigations.
• Learn to read electronic, digital and analogue circuit diagrams and ensure documentation meets governance.
• Rotate through core units (PCB, Avionics, Military Power, Civil Power, Aftermarket) to broaden product understanding.
• In year 3, begin to specialise in an area to refine technical competency and product knowledge.
