Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Associate Director to join its Aviation Infrastructure team. The role is based in our UK offices (Basingstoke, Croydon, Manchester, Birmingham or London) and focuses on delivering innovative, resilient, and sustainable airport solutions for major hubs and general aviation alike.

You will lead project teams, ensure technical excellence, and build strong client relationships while pursuing new opportunities and mentoring junior staff in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• Professional qualification: Institution of Civil Engineers (or equivalent).
• Significant experience in design, planning and construction support within the airport environment.
• Knowledge of Civil and Military Aviation standards and recommended practices (ICAO, EASA, CAA, FAA, MAA).
• Exceptional communication skills with an ability to identify and influence key client stakeholders, building effective relationships to support the growth of our pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of multi-disciplinary projects with aligned team objectives.
• Assure technical delivery and design excellence across projects.
• Engage clients, provide strategic advice, and represent AECOM in meetings and events.
• Pursue new business opportunities and prepare bids and proposals.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing team of airport planners and engineers.
