Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Associate Director to lead a team of engineers within our Aviation Infrastructure group, based in the UK. You will drive multi-disciplinary projects across airports of varying sizes, shaping the future of aviation infrastructure with innovative, sustainable solutions.

You will develop partnerships with clients, lead bids, and mentor a high-performing team while benefiting from a flexible hybrid work model that supports work-life balance and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• Professional qualification: Institution of Civil Engineers (or equivalent)
• Significant experience and a strong track record in design, planning and construction support within the airport environment
• Knowledge of Civil and Military Aviation standards and recommended practices (ICAO, EASA, CAA, FAA, MAA)
• Exceptional communication skills with an ability to identify and influence key client stakeholders, building effective relationships to support the growth of our pipeline.
• A solution-oriented mindset, be confident to question the status quo or suggest innovative ideas.
• Experienced at leading project teams and creating a positive team culture that encourages learning, professional development and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of multi-disciplinary projects, aligning team objectives with broader business goals.
• Assure the technical delivery of projects, providing expertise to ensure excellence in delivery.
• Engage with key clients, providing strategic advice to meet goals with innovative, sustainable solutions.
• Pursue new business opportunities in the Aviation Infrastructure sector, lead bids and proposals, and collaborate across lines.
• Develop and mentor airport planners, civil engineers, and lighting designers, fostering collaboration and inclusion.
