Job summary

The University of Surrey is seeking an AV Solutions Specialist to join its IT Services team on a fixed-term basis for 2 years. The role covers the design, documentation and lifecycle planning of audiovisual solutions across teaching and meeting spaces from totem installations to large lecture theatres and specialist learning environments.

You will collaborate with the AV Technical Manager and stakeholders to deliver robust AV designs, supporting procurement, installation planning, commissioning

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing AV systems for teaching spaces.
• Ability to translate stakeholder needs into robust AV designs.
• Knowledge of AV standards and reference designs.
• Experience with procurement and project coordination.

Responsibilities

• Design and document AV solutions for teaching and meeting spaces, including totem setups and large lecture theatres.
• Develop, apply and maintain AV standards, reference designs and supported technology patterns.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, including room specifications and bills of materials.
• Gather requirements from academic and professional services stakeholders to translate into practical AV designs.
• Support procurement, installation planning, commissioning and acceptance testing, ensuring safety and accessibility expectations.
• Maintain lifecycle and asset information for AV systems and identify obsolescence or standardisation opportunities.
• Provide specialist advice to AV teams and contribute to continuous improvement of AV designs and processes.
