Job summary

Onyx-Conseil in Bolton seeks an AV Design Engineer to own projects from concept to delivery on-site three days a week, with hybrid working and progression opportunities.

Design complete AV systems, produce schematics, rack layouts, cable schedules and BOMs; work with sales, project management, engineers and customers to ensure robust, install-ready solutions. Experience with Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, DSPs and control systems required; Visio/AutoCAD/SketchUp a plus.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in AV Design or AV Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, DSP and control systems.
• Understanding of signal flow, system integration, and AV networking.
• Experience producing technical drawings using Visio or similar software.
• CTS, CTS-D or Education sector experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design complete AV systems from concept through to delivery.
• Produce schematics, rack layouts, cable schedules, and bills of materials.
• Support pre-sales activities and technical solution development.
• Work closely with project teams to ensure designs are install-ready.
• Support installation and commissioning activities when required.

AV Design Engineer (Audio Visual)
Bolton - 3 days a week on-site

Are you an experienced AV Design Engineer looking for an opportunity to take full ownership of projects from concept through to delivery, working on large-scale, high-quality installations where your technical expertise, commercial awareness, and ability to deliver practical solutions will have a genuine impact?

In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of complete AV systems, producing detailed technical documentation including schematics, rack layouts, cable schedules, functional descriptions, and bills of materials. You will work closely with sales, project management teams, engineers, and customers to ensure solutions are technically robust, commercially viable, and ready for installation.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within an AV design or AV engineering position, with strong knowledge of video conferencing technologies, audio systems, control systems, and AV integration. You will be comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously and working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
