Job summary

The University of Surrey in Guildford is seeking an AV Solutions Specialist on a fixed-term basis for 2 years to design, document and lifecycle-plan audiovisual solutions across teaching and meeting spaces.

Working with the AV Technical Manager and IT Services, you will ensure solutions are scalable, standardised and reliable while supporting procurement, installation planning and commissioning, contributing to continuous service improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in audiovisual systems design, documentation and technology standards.
• Ability to translate stakeholder needs into practical AV solutions.
• Proactive, adaptable and committed to continuous improvement, with the ability to manage competing priorities and contribute to AV standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and document AV solutions for teaching, meeting spaces, and lecture theatres.
• Develop and maintain AV standards, reference designs and patterns for consistency, scalability and serviceability.
• Create technical documentation including room specs, schematics, BOMs, network and power requirements.
• Gather requirements from academic, professional service and project stakeholders.
• Support procurement, supplier engagement, installation planning, commissioning and testing.
• Maintain lifecycle and asset information for AV systems and identify refresh priorities.
• Provide specialist advice to AV teams and contribute to continuous improvement of AV designs.
