Job summary

SII UK is seeking a Software Engineer for Autonomy to advance software, data and AI across defence and technology environments. You will develop secure software, build CI/CD pipelines and integrate APIs within multidisciplinary teams to enable autonomous capabilities.

The role requires strong C++, Linux/Windows experience, Python knowledge, and the ability to work in regulated settings with potential UK security clearance involvement.

Qualifications

• Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering or software discipline.
• Eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).
• Experience with Linux and/or Windows platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and deploy secure software solutions.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated delivery.
• Develop reusable and scalable software capabilities.
• Support software products throughout their lifecycle.
• Conduct code reviews, debugging and troubleshooting activities.
• Contribute to secure development practices, threat modelling and vulnerability management.
• Work closely with architects, engineers and stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions.
• Implement APIs and third-party integrations.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation.
• Support innovation activities, proof-of-concepts and continuous improvement initiatives.
