Job summary

The Carnarvon Arms, a pub, restaurant and hotel near Highclere Castle, invites applications for a motivated Sous Chef to lead a busy kitchen and deliver high-quality, fresh food in a welcoming team. You will bring hands-on leadership and a passion for great service in a vibrant environment.

Qualifications

• Looking for an existing Sous Chef or Senior CDP ready for next step.
• Natural leader with passion for producing quality fresh food.
• Hands-on chef with excellent communication skills.
• Responsible for kitchen rota, training and health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the kitchen team alongside the Head Chef.
• Design and deliver new dishes for menus and daily specials.
• Plan and organise staffing to maintain GP and labour controls.
• Drive sales and growth through engagement with kitchen and FOH teams.
• Manage health and safety and staff training.
• Support in menu creation and quality control.
