Job summary

Applied Computing in Greater London seeks a security operations leader to own end-to-end incident response for a fast-moving AI business. You will manage identity, endpoints, network controls and the UK IT service.

This role builds an autonomous security operations capability from the ground up, including monitoring gaps, agentic detection, and resilience testing. You will collaborate with engineers and security professionals to shape our security program.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in security operations with incident response accountability.
• Hands-on cloud security operations (AWS/Azure) including logging and identity.
• Identity and access administration at scale (SSO, privileged access).
• Endpoint and EDR administration across distributed fleet.
• Vulnerability management with remediation focus.
• Experience in ISO 27001 or SOC 2 environments with audit-ready evidence.
• Automation mindset: scripting or IaC, or directing agentic tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own alert triage, incident response end to end, declare incidents, run them, close them.
• Operate autonomous security operations capability; treat agent output as first line, not verdict.
• Own detection engineering: logging standards, alert quality, coverage gaps.
• Validate coverage against internal red team attack paths and close gaps.
• Run post-incident reviews and drive actions to closure.
