Job summary

SECAmb's Virtual Care service is seeking clinicians to perform autonomous remote clinical assessments for patients contacting 999 or NHS 111. The role is office-based at one of two contact centres, operating on 24/7 rotas including nights, with a commute of ~45–60 minutes.

HCPC paramedic or NMC adult nurse registration with 2 years post-registration experience is required. You will develop person-centred care plans, manage risk, and provide referrals while contributing to service development and

• Evidence of additional professional development relevant to urgent, emergency, unscheduled or virtual care.

Responsibilities

• Carry out autonomous virtual clinical assessments for patients from 999, NHS 111 and other referral pathways
• Use clinical judgement, evidence-based practice and decision-support tools to assess and manage urgent and emergency patients
• Develop person-centred care plans and give self-care advice, safety-netting and onward referrals
• Help patients access community, primary care, mental health and urgent care services
• Give clinical leadership and advice to operational and clinical colleagues
• Identify and manage risk, safeguarding concerns and patient deterioration
• Contribute to quality improvement, audit and service development projects
• Help develop innovative virtual models of care and grow the Virtual Care service
• Coach, mentor and support colleagues as the service evolves
• Build expertise in digital healthcare and remote clinical assessment
