Job summary

NHS 24 invites applications from a qualified Public Protection Nurse Practitioner. You will work as an autonomous practitioner handling in-hours public protection referrals, assessing concerns, and coordinating action with health, social care and partner agencies.

The role requires SCQF Level 9 (or equivalent) and current NMC Adult Nurse registration, plus extensive post-registration experience in acute or primary care. Hybrid working across NHS Scotland regions is offered.

Qualifications

• Must be educated to SCQF Level 9 or equivalent with current registration as an Adult Nurse (NMC).
• Extensive post-registration experience, preferably in acute or primary care.
• Knowledge of policy and legislation to support public protection practice in Scotland.

Responsibilities

• Act as autonomous practitioner for in-hours public protection referrals.
• Assess concerns and decide on appropriate action in collaboration with health and social care partners.
• Prioritise follow-up of referrals and safeguard patient information per agreed processes.
• Support frontline staff during peak activity in the 111 service.
