Job summary

Morgan Ryder Associates is recruiting an HSE Manager for two UK sites in Burnley. This hands-on, shop-floor role will see you own HSE across both sites and drive a proactive safety culture. You will also lead inductions, training, audits and incident investigations.

NEBOSH or IOSH is preferred; significant experience will be considered. The role offers autonomy with potential to build a small HSE team as the business grows.

Qualifications

• Solid HSE experience in manufacturing/high-risk environments.
• NEBOSH or IOSH preferred; significant practical experience considered.
• Autonomous, shop-floor oriented with leadership potential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments, audits and site inspections.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Advise on high-risk activities, equipment and processes.
• Support permit-to-work and chemical controls.
• Deliver inductions, toolbox talks and HSE training.
• Improve PPE compliance and safe working practices.
• Maintain HSE records, statistics and management systems.
• Support legislative compliance and liaison with HSE bodies.
• Coach managers and staff to improve safety culture.
• Develop and implement HSE policies and improvement plans.
• Monitor HSE performance and report to senior management.
• Identify opportunities to raise HSE standards.
• Lead development of the HSE function as the business grows.
• Assist recruitment of a small HSE team.
