Job summary

Fernbank Surgery is seeking a salaried GP to join a diverse clinical team. The post offers autonomous medical care under the GMS contract with both full-time and part-time options, including home visits and surgeries.

Applicants should have GMC registration and an enhanced DBS check, with experience in primary care and medicines management. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team to maintain high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

• Qualified GP with MRCGP or equivalent qualification.
• GMC registration is required.
• Experience in primary care and medicines management.
• Enhanced DBS check is required.
• Knowledge of the GMS contract preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide autonomous medical services under the GMS contract.
• Caseload management via surgery, telephone consultations and home visits.
• Make autonomous clinical decisions on undifferentiated problems.
• Screen for disease risk factors and provide health education.
• Admit/discharge patients and refer to other care providers as needed.
• Record clear notes and collect audit data.
• Prescribe from formulary or generics and manage repeat prescriptions.
• Contribute to clinical audit and computer-based patient records.
• Lead on health and safety and infection control.
