Job summary

Billinge Medical Practice is recruiting a General Practitioner to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team in a well‑established training practice. You will deliver comprehensive, evidence‑based primary care and supervise learners within an educational culture.

The role supports flexible Monday to Friday working with 4–8 sessions per week and a salary reflecting experience and qualifications. The Practice values clinical autonomy alongside strong teamworking and development

Responsibilities

• The post holder will provide general medical services appropriate to their competence and agreed job plan.
• Face-to-face, telephone, video and other clinically appropriate consultations.
• Online consultation activity, clinical triage and management of urgent presentations.
• Duty doctor or urgent care responsibilities where included within the agreed rota.
• Assessment and management of acute illness and undifferentiated presentations.
• Management of long-term conditions and multimorbidity.
• Preventative healthcare, health promotion and population health activity.
• Mental health assessment and management within the scope of primary care.
• Women’s health, men’s health, care of older people, frailty and appropriate care of children and young people.
• Palliative and end-of-life care within the scope of general practice.
• Home visits where clinically indicated and in accordance with Practice arrangements.
• Emergency assessment and treatment within the scope and resources of general practice.
• Appropriate referrals to secondary care, community services, mental health services, social care and other providers.
• Appropriate use of Advice and Guidance and locally agreed pathways where clinically suitable.
• Completion of clinical documentation, fit notes, certificates and other NHS paperwork arising from the patient’s care.
