Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to work in a GP practice in Kettering. The role suits an experienced ACP from nursing, paramedic, or allied health backgrounds who can perform autonomous clinical assessments and safe decision-making within a structured primary care setting.

You will run your own clinics to handle urgent and routine patient demand, with clear pathways, strong admin support and a smooth workflow to ensure effective session delivery.

Qualifications

• Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate).
• Background may be Nursing, Paramedic Science, Physiotherapy or similar.
• Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) preferred.
• Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or UTC settings.
• Confident autonomous clinician with strong decision-making skills.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conducting acute and same-day access clinics
• Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations
• Telephone triage and clinical streaming
• Ordering and interpreting investigations
• Prescribing safely within scope (where qualified)
• Managing follow-up actions, results and referral workflows
• Documenting clearly using the practice clinical system
