Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to join a GP practice in Workington. The role suits an experienced ACP from nursing, paramedic, or allied health backgrounds who can deliver autonomous clinical assessments and safe decisions within a structured primary care setting.

You will run your own clinics, support urgent and routine patient demand, and benefit from clear pathways, strong admin support and a smooth workflow to ensure efficient session delivery.

Qualifications

Advanced Clinical Practitioner qualification (Level 7/Postgraduate) required.
Background may be Nursing, Paramedic Science, Physiotherapy or similar.
Independent Prescribing qualification (V300 or equivalent) preferred.
Recent experience in primary care, urgent care or UTC settings.

Responsibilities

Conducting acute and same-day access clinics
Autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of undifferentiated presentations
Telephone triage and clinical streaming
Ordering and interpreting investigations
Prescribing safely within scope (where qualified)
Managing follow-up actions, results and referral workflows
Documenting clearly using the practice clinical system
