Job summary

GTG Training Limited in Edinburgh is seeking an Automotive Technical Trainer to join our team. You will train apprentices and commercial courses at GTG’s training centres, working toward industry-accredited qualifications.

The successful candidate will have automotive technical expertise, including electrical diagnosis, and be occupationally competent with Level 3 qualification. Training experience is welcome but not required, with full induction and structured support to grow in the role.

Qualifications

• Must hold a recognised qualification in Automotive Maintenance and Repair Level 3 Light Vehicle or equivalent.
• Up-to-date knowledge of modern automotive technology.
• Proactive, self-motivated with good problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Ensure trainees receive training reflecting current industry methods and technologies.
• Apply effective training methods for diverse learning styles and knowledge transfer.
• Carry out assessments and keep trainee records up to date.
• Maintain technical skills through CPD and stay aware of new developments.
• Deliver training in line with QA processes, awarding bodies and health and safety obligations.
• Provide welfare support and guidance to apprentices and employers.
