Job summary

CAD-IT Ltd is seeking an Automotive Technical Author to create high-quality documentation for a leading automotive OEM. You will apply hands-on automotive knowledge to interpret complex data and produce clear diagnostic content for procedures and manuals.

The role involves collaborating with engineers and technicians, using CAD tools, and updating materials to reflect engineering changes. Training in Technical Authoring software is provided, and strong IT skills along with a proactive,

Qualifications

Strong automotive system knowledge and hands on experience is a must. Diagnostic, Electric and Hybrid knowledge would be an advantage.
Good level of IT literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint). XML, HTML experience would be beneficial.
Experience with CAD and authoring software is desirable – training can be provided.
Ability to deliver quality and consistency in a highly demanding environment.
Proactive, flexible, and able to work independently.
Good communication and professionalism to liaise with technicians, engineers, and senior management.
Ability to solve problems and deliver solutions is essential.
Technical Authoring competence or experience would be beneficial – we will provide training on all Technical Authoring software!

Responsibilities

Work closely with Aftersales and engineering to develop technical information for vehicles.
Plan, manage and deliver projects against a plan on time and to a high standard.
Collaborate with technicians and engineers to gather technical information.
Use and manipulate CAD for technical content.
Update content to reflect engineering changes and feedback.
Arrange and support validations of authored content when required.
