Job summary

Mane Contract Services is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technical Author to join a high-performance motorsport engineering team. You will produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, support governance, and ensure design information is accurate, controlled and delivered to the highest standards.

You will work closely with mechanical engineers and cross-functional teams, handling change records, release documentation and documentation packs for reviews and milestones, while

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience creating or supporting technical documentation in engineering.
• Knowledge of document control and approval workflows.
• Strong technical writing and documentation structuring.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain design reports, specifications, work instructions and test procedures.
• Translate complex technical information into clear, accurate documentation.
• Manage document control: versioning, traceability and change records.
• Prepare documentation packs and evidence for design reviews and audits.
• Review and update documentation to reflect engineering changes.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, quality and supply chain on documentation.
• Maintain document registers, trackers and reporting tools.
• Ensure documentation is accurate, confidential and delivered on time.
