Job summary

Omega Plc is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer (Automotive) for its Bolton site on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role focuses on strengthening supplier interfaces, driving improvements in supplier quality KPIs and leading corrective action reviews.

You will audit suppliers, manage NPI supplier activities, and lead APQP/PPAP processes while developing supplier capabilities and ensuring timely project delivery across a global supply chain.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering.
• IATF 16949 and/or VDA 6.3 Auditor.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a Supplier Quality or Quality Engineering role.
• Automotive experience preferred, backgrounds in electronics, mechanical manufacturing or high-volume assembly environments.
• Strong understanding of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, R&R and supplier development methodologies.
• Experience conducting supplier audits and managing supplier improvement projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable travelling to supplier sites when required.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Support the approval and qualification of new suppliers through audits.
• Manage supplier activities throughout NPI, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Lead Supplier APQP and PPAP approval activities.
• Conduct ongoing supplier audits and assessments to maintain approval status.
• Develop suppliers through training, coaching and deployment of quality standards.
• Carry out supplier improvement initiatives.
