Job summary

Drive Motor Group in Leicester is offering an IMI Apprenticeship – Level 2 with progression to Level 3 Service Technician. You will begin with Level 2 Autocare, and progress to Level 3 after successful completion, gaining hands-on workshop experience and IMI training.

You will work 40 hours a week, learn servicing, fault-finding, and vehicle inspections, and gain a nationally recognised qualification. The programme combines paid employment with practical training aimed at building a long-term

Qualifications

• GCSE / National 5 (or equivalent) A–C / 9–4 in Maths and English.
• Interest in vehicle servicing and repair across petrol, diesel, hybrid and EV.
• Willingness to travel and stay away from home for training.
• Hold a valid driving licence and basic IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians in routine servicing, inspections, and maintenance tasks.
• Support fault‑finding using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Learn to repair mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
• Follow health & safety procedures and work safely in the workshop.
• Record work completed, parts used, and service activity accurately.
• Attend all required IMI training and assessments.
• Work as part of a team to ensure high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
