Job summary

A QA Engineer role in Oldbury within a UK coatings/manufacturing environment. Responsible for quality assurance, control, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. Reports to the Technical & Quality Director and supports QMS development towards IATF and ISO 14001.

Candidates should have automotive quality experience, IATF knowledge, and proficiency with Quality Core Tools, APQP/PPAP, and reading engineering drawings. Health, safety and environmental procedures are also relevant.

Qualifications

• Quality engineering experience in automotive is essential.
• Knowledge of IATF requirements.
• Knowledge of VDA 6.3 audit policies and requirements.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality policies and system requirements.
• Experience using Quality Core Tools and structured problem-solving techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience supporting NPI, APQP and PPAP documentation.
• Understanding of health, safety and environmental procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure robust quality control and quality assurance within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Review and analyse Non-Conforming Product daily.
• Lead operational teams through root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
• Apply continual improvement techniques to improve product quality and manufacturing performance.
• Manage and develop the Quality Management System.
• Support progression towards IATF and ISO 14001 standards.
• Use Quality Core Tools to drive continuous improvement.
• Assist with NPI and APQP documentation, including PPAP documentation.
• Lead site audits covering quality systems, manufacturing processes and products.
• Lead customer and external audits.
• Support ongoing improvement of quality policies, procedures and controls.
