Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Automotive Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Queenstown. You will design, develop and test mechanical systems for automotive applications, ensuring performance, reliability and safety standards.

You will work on engine systems, chassis dynamics and powertrain components, collaborating with suppliers and manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality solutions and drive innovation in vehicle technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the automotive industry, focusing on mechanical design.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and CAE tools for automotive applications.
• Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, powertrain systems, or chassis engineering.
• Experience with automotive testing procedures and equipment.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and subsystems for automotive applications.
• Conduct performance analysis, simulations, and testing of automotive systems.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure component quality and timely delivery.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues encountered during vehicle development and testing.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant automotive standards and regulations.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of vehicle performance and efficiency through innovative mechanical solutions.
