Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a Queenstown facility to design robust industrial equipment, translating customer needs into reliable, cost-effective solutions. This hands-on role emphasizes from concept to production and requires strong CAD and analysis skills.

You will collaborate with manufacturing teams, build prototypes, perform stress and thermal analyses, and support sales and service with technical insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 3-5 years of mechanical design experience.
• Proficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks or Inventor) and basic FEA.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, assembly).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new industrial equipment from concept to production.
• Create 3D models, drawings, and BOMs using CAD software.
• Perform stress, strain, and thermal analyses to ensure design integrity.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams for DFM and DFA.
• Build and test prototypes, documenting results and iterating designs.
• Provide technical support to sales and service regarding equipment design and performance.
