Job summary

Canterbury Mercedes-Benz, part of the Lookers Limited group, is seeking a driven General Manager to lead the Canterbury dealership. You will oversee sales, service and profitability, guiding a team to deliver high-quality customer experiences and strong business results.

The role rewards leadership with a structured pay scale and long-term growth opportunities within a renowned automotive group. The GM will drive strategy, coach managers, ensure brand standards and build lasting relationships

Qualifications

• Experience at General Manager or Head of Business level in automotive retail.
• Solid understanding of EV vehicles and emerging mobility trends.
• Proven ability to develop people, coach managers and drive customer service excellence.
• Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team to achieve sales, service and profitability targets.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with staff and customers.

Responsibilities

• Develop a customer service driven environment and culture through regular communication, team building and coaching with your teams.
• Communicate and maintain customer service standards and measurements in line with Brand requirements.
• Provide clear leadership by ensuring the vision and objectives for the business are understood and communicated.
• Train and develop department managers in line with organisational requirements.
• Agree objectives & work standards with department managers reviewing their performance regularly.
• Develop and monitor the business plan for all sales areas with senior managers to meet objectives, profit margins and market penetration.
