Octane Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Assistant Centre Manager for a fast-growing UK automotive business in Swindon. You will support the Centre Manager, coordinate workshop staff, and help ensure smooth daily operations while driving customer satisfaction and compliance.

A background in automotive is required; candidates may be experienced Assistant Centre Managers or ready for their first management role. A clean UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Background within Automotive industry.
• Ready for first step into management or already an Assistant Centre Manager.
• Full clean UK driving licence — Essential.
• Experience in a technical/mechanical environment.
• Strong automotive product knowledge.
• Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on approach to supporting workshop team.

Responsibilities

• Support the Centre Manager with the day-to-day running of the centre.
• Coordinate workshop staff and manage daily work routines for efficient workflow.
• Maintain strict control over stock and inventory values.
• Coach and mentor workshop mechanics to achieve customer satisfaction and business targets.
• Step into the workshop to assist technicians when required.
• Support achievement of commercial sales KPIs and overall centre performance.
• Handle customer enquiries and identify opportunities to grow the business.
• Develop and support local customer accounts.
• Ensure strict workshop compliance and high operational standards.
