Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd in Banbury is seeking an Assistant Centre Manager for a fast‑fit automotive business. You will work with the Centre Manager to run daily operations, optimise workflow and support the workshop team.

The role suits someone with an automotive background, either currently in an Assistant Centre Manager position or ready to take their first management step. Location: Banbury. OTE: approx. £6,000 per annum based on KPI targets.

Qualifications

• Full clean UK driving licence, held for at least 6 months – Essential
• Experience within a technical or mechanical working environment
• Strong automotive product knowledge
• Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organisational and commercial awareness skills
• A hands-on approach and willingness to support the workshop team when required

Responsibilities

• Support the Centre Manager with the day-to-day running of the centre
• Coordinate workshop staff and manage daily work routines to ensure an efficient workflow
• Maintain strict control over stock and inventory values
• Guide, coach and mentor workshop mechanics to help achieve customer satisfaction and business targets
• Step into the workshop and physically assist technicians with mechanical issues when required
• Support the achievement of commercial sales KPIs and overall centre performance
• Handle customer enquiries and use commercial awareness to identify opportunities to grow the business
• Develop and support local customer accounts
• Ensure strict workshop compliance and high operational standards are maintained
