Job summary

London Stock Exchange Group in London is seeking a Test Architect to own the automation test strategy for the FTSE Russell Test Framework within the Equities Product & Operations team. The role blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership across squads to shape quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

The position requires 12+ years in software testing and deep experience with Python, Pytest, Playwright, GitLab, and AWS.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software testing, test automation, or quality engineering.
• Experience defining owning test automation strategy, architecture, and governance.
• Strong practice with Python, Pytest, and Playwright; CI/CD with GitLab.
• Experience with AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, and data/API testing.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain a coherent automation test strategy and architecture.
• Lead framework engineering, design principles, and reusable components.
• Guide test levels and approaches across functional, API, data, and performance testing.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations to address quality risks.
• Coach Test engineers and developers on automation practices and standards.
• Integrate automated testing into GitLab CI/CD workflows and AWS environments.
