Role Overview

Are you an experienced Automation Technician looking for an exciting new job opportunity?

We are currently seeking an Automation Technician to join a growing engineering company based in Essex.

As an Automation Technician, you will work in the Electrical and Automation department, collaborating with electricians and panel builders to design and build control systems, as well as programming and commissioning machines both in the factory and on-site.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design PLC-based electrical control systems based on design specifications and program PLCs, touchscreens, and safety configurable relay systems.
  • Configure Remote I/O, servo motors, inverter drives, and integrate ancillary equipment such as vision systems into production lines.
  • Fault find electrical control systems, PLCs, and hardwired systems.
  • Commission, support, and service equipment at customer sites as required.
Role Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following:

  • Good understanding of electrical drawings, control panel specifications/design, PLC programming, touchscreens, and controls, along with knowledge of vision and SCADA systems.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or familiarity with explosive atmosphere regulations is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel to support the company's worldwide customer base.
