Job summary

Express Recruitment in Nottingham is seeking an experienced Software Project Manager to own customer software projects from scoping and planning through to implementation, acceptance and handover within a small, agile team. You’ll forecast, manage budgets and risks, coordinate across development, product and architecture, and lead stakeholder updates to ensure delivery on time and within scope.

Some out‑of‑hours work near the Nottingham office may be required.

Qualifications

Proven experience managing end-to-end software projects in a customer-facing environment.
Strong commercial awareness with responsibility for budgets, schedules and scope changes.
Understanding of software development and release processes; experience with Agile, hybrid or similar methodologies.
Ability to coordinate across multiple departments without direct management and to challenge priorities.
Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project; PRINCE2/APM/PMP certification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Manage multiple software projects across the full delivery lifecycle with realistic milestones.
Control scope and commercial performance; evaluate changes and communicate impact.
Coordinate across technical, product and operations teams to anticipate challenges.
Lead customer communications and meetings; provide accurate progress updates.
Maintain project governance, costs, risks and milestones; ensure proper documentation.
