Job summary
Morgan Ryder Associates seeks an Automation & Robotics Engineer to build automation capability from the ground up in a defence-focused manufacturing environment. You will lead robotics and automation projects across the facility, delivering continuous improvement and setting new manufacturing standards.
Working with an experienced Engineering Manager, you will be the technical lead for robotics, supporting current operations and major capital investment projects.
Qualifications
- Experience with industrial robotics and automated manufacturing systems.
- Robot programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
- PLC programming or modification experience.
- Knowledge of automation safety standards and machine compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead deployment and optimisation of robotic welding and assembly systems.
- Own existing collaborative robot applications and develop programmes for new products and processes.
- Support introduction and commissioning of new automated manufacturing cells.
- Program, modify and improve robotic and PLC-controlled systems.
- Support FAT, SAT, installation and commissioning activities.
- Develop automation standards, technical specs and best practices for future projects.
- Support implementation of machine vision and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
- Work with maintenance and production teams to improve reliability and uptime.
- Produce technical documentation, SOPs, backup procedures, and control specifications.
- Deliver training and knowledge transfer to operators and engineers.
