Automation Project Lead – Warehouse Robots & Fulfilment

Job summary

THG Ingenuity Ltd. is seeking an Automation Project Manager to own end-to-end delivery of warehouse automation programmes, from concept through procurement, installation, commissioning and handover across multiple UK sites.

You will work with engineering, IT, operations and external partners to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining health and safety standards. Travel to UK project sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering automation, engineering, material handling or capital equipment projects.
• Strong project management skills with budget and risk management.
• Experience managing external suppliers and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Good understanding of mechanical interfaces.
• Good understanding of electrical interfaces.
• Knowledge of controls engineering and system interfaces.
• Experience with installation, commissioning and go-live activities.
• Experience with FAT/SAT and high-volume go-lives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Willingness to travel to UK project sites.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations and contractor management.
• PRINCE2/APM/PMP qualifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of automation projects from initiation through to final handover and project close-out.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, programmes, milestones and resource forecasts.
• Manage project scope, budgets, expenditure, risks, dependencies and change control.
• Coordinate multiple workstreams to meet deadlines and commercial commitments.
• Identify delays and risks, implementing corrective actions and escalation when needed.
• Lead project meetings with progress reports to key stakeholders.
• Ensure automation projects meet specifications, contractual requirements and business objectives.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, FAT/SAT, and go-live planning.
