Job summary

Rubicon Recruitment is seeking a Production Engineer to own how automation and process improvement take shape on the shop floor. You’ll apply rigorous technical judgement to design and implement automation across the production line, influencing how processes run for optimal quality and efficiency.

In this role you’ll lead improvement projects from concept to implementation, support new product introduction, and work with cross-functional teams to embed a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven, hands-on experience of automation within a manufacturing environment.
• Solid grounding in process improvement.
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma or Kaizen methodologies.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Identify, design and implement automation solutions across the production line.
• Lead automation and process improvement projects from concept through to implementation.
• Review existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for standardisation and waste reduction.
• Support new product introduction, ensuring processes are optimised ahead of full scale production.
• Investigate and resolve production issues, applying root cause analysis techniques.
• Work with production, quality and engineering teams to embed a continuous improvement culture.
