Job summary

Rubicon Recruitment Agency seeks a Production Engineer to own how automation and process improvement take shape on the shop floor. Your technical judgement will guide improvements that matter as much as speed.

You’ll lead automation projects from concept through to implementation, review manufacturing processes for standardisation and waste reduction, and support new product introductions with optimized, scalable processes.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience of automation within a manufacturing environment.
• A relevant engineering degree with a grounding in process improvement.
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma or Kaizen methodologies.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing is desirable but not essential.
• Confident working across the shop floor and influencing how processes are run.
• Proactive, independent problem-solving approach.

Responsibilities

• Identify, design and implement automation solutions across the production line.
• Lead automation and process improvement projects from concept through to implementation.
• Review existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for standardisation and waste reduction.
• Support new product introduction, ensuring processes are optimised ahead of full-scale production.
• Investigate and resolve production issues using root cause analysis techniques.
• Work with production, quality and engineering teams to embed a continuous improvement culture.
