Job summary

Royal Mail Maintenance Team Leader is a 12-month fixed-term, full-time role based at the Midlands Super Hub in Crick. The post oversees proactive technical leadership for automation maintenance, ensuring safety, efficiency and cost effectiveness.

You will lead, train and develop the engineering maintenance team, manage risk assessments, and ensure hardware/software configurations are current, with a strong focus on safety and asset performance.

Qualifications

• Time served Engineering apprenticeship.
• Electrical qualification to HCN level or equivalent (desirable).
• NVQ3 electro/mechanical with experience of leading a team.
• Training, coaching and developing a technical team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and co-ordinate maintenance techniques to ensure asset performance and availability.
• Provide and deliver technical training, coaching and development to the engineering maintenance team.
• Assist in the risk assessment process relating to automation equipment and Engineering Safe Systems of Work.
• Deliver modifications and ensure that the configuration status of hardware/software and mechanical set up is up to date and technically managed.
• Develop the engineering team on a day-to-day basis, proving support, and advice, conducting annual Individual Performance Reviews and regular development meetings to ensure the highest technical standards are met.
• Offer technical direction in-keeping with Business Values and standards, explaining as necessary.
• Challenge unacceptable behaviour, bullying and harassment, within the mail centre engineering community.
• Ensure all relevant Health & Safety Policy and Guidelines are adhered to by Maintenance Teams.
