Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking an Automation Engineer to join a family-owned automation specialist in Plymouth. You will develop PLC programs, write HMIs, and provide SCADA support for diverse client projects using Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs.

The role is 85% office-based with 15% site travel across the UK and abroad. A full UK driving license is essential. Salary is £60,000–£65,000 plus 33 days holiday, overtime, enhanced pension, and access to turnkey bespoke systems.

Qualifications

• Experience as Automation Engineer or similar.
• Willing to commute to client sites throughout the UK and abroad.
• Full UK driving license.

Responsibilities

• Develop PLC programs, upgrade HMIs and provide SCADA support.
• Commission bespoke systems at client sites.
• Work 85% office-based, 15% site travel.
