Job summary

Brunel is seeking an Automation Engineer to carry out maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on automated gates, barriers, doors and shutters across a nationwide client base. The role requires a self-driven, organised individual who can deliver high-quality work and grow within the department.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with automation systems, strong electrical skills, and a proactive attitude towards safety and compliance. A Full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with automated gates, barriers, doors, shutters or similar automation systems.
• Strong electrical competency and fault-finding abilities.
• Knowledge of relevant safety standards and industry best practices.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.

Responsibilities

• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits.
• Breakdown attendance and fault diagnosis.
• Repair and remedial works on automated systems.
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding.
• Ensuring systems operate safely and remain compliant with current standards.
• Accurate completion of service records and reports.
• Maintaining strong customer relationships and providing excellent service.
