Job summary

ABCA Group is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our expanding team in the UK. You will work on reactive callouts, maintenance and fault finding across automatic doors, gates, barriers and access control systems, with a focus on delivering high-quality service to clients in social housing and commercial sectors.

The role requires hands-on technical ability, strong problem-solving skills and a professional customer-focused approach, with an on-call rota and occasional out-of-hours work.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Automation Engineer / Automatic Door Engineer / Gate & Barrier Engineer / Access Control Engineer.
• Experience working with automatic doors, gates, barriers and/or access control systems.
• ADSA or ADIA accreditation would be highly desirable.
• Ideally 3+ years industry experience.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Responding to reactive callouts and diagnosing and repairing faults efficiently.
• Carrying out installation, servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Working on automatic doors, gates, barriers and access control systems.
• Carrying out surveys, inspections and site assessments.
• Fault finding and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and control systems.
• Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Providing professional and customer-focused service on site.
• Accurately recording works completed, parts used and technical information.
• Completing job reports, timesheets and relevant documentation.
• Working in line with company procedures and health & safety requirements.
• Supporting out-of-hours callouts, overtime and an on-call rota where required.
