Job summary

Hilton Food Group in Huntingdon is seeking a NAWI (Automation) Engineer for a permanent role. You will diagnose faults, perform PPM on automated systems and help improve reliability and efficiency in our food manufacturing environment.

You will participate in PIT meetings to boost OEE, support installation and commissioning, and provide technical guidance to warehouse operatives. We offer competitive benefits, life assurance, cycle to work, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Recognised electrical apprenticeship to ONC/HNC level or equivalent.
Experience in control systems (PLCs, contactors, relays, safety circuits).
Good mechanical knowledge.
Experience in automated environments (essential).
Experience in food manufacturing environments (advantageous).

Responsibilities

Diagnose faults and carry out remedial actions to required engineering standards.
Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on all automated systems.
Propose and implement equipment improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Attend PIT meetings to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) in collaboration with production and logistics teams.
Complete accurate breakdown and maintenance reports.
Ensure correct booking out of spare parts from stores.
Support installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Contribute to special engineering and improvement projects.
Provide technical support and guidance to warehouse operatives.
Work with contractors as required.
Comply with hygiene, health & safety, and company policies.
