Job summary

Actalent is recruiting for an Operational Services Engineer to join a globally recognised EPC leader in aluminium beverage and food can manufacturing. The role focuses on commissioning, start-up, maintenance and support of automated production equipment across customer sites, with PLC troubleshooting and automation support at the core.

You will work within an experienced engineering team, traveling across the UK and internationally, with a flexible hybrid working model.

Qualifications

Hands-on role focused on commissioning, start-up and maintenance of automated production equipment.
Experience with PLC-controlled equipment and fault-finding in high-speed manufacturing environments.
Willingness to travel across the UK and internationally.
Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Multiskilled electrical and mechanical engineering background.

Responsibilities

Commission and start up industrial automation and process equipment on customer sites
Support installation, testing and operational acceptance activities
Diagnose and resolve electrical, control system and PLC-related faults
Carry out maintenance activities and warranty support work as required
Program, modify and troubleshoot PLC systems (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley preferred)
Work with conveyors, filters and related production equipment
Provide technical support to customers and project teams
Travel to customer facilities across UK and internationally as required
Manage workload independently and deliver projects on time
Experience with PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment
