Job summary

Thorn Baker Group in Chesterfield is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join a busy manufacturing site. You will operate and monitor automated production and assembly machinery, setting up machines, carrying out changeovers and adjustments.

The role requires at least 2 years of automated machine operating experience, with a good understanding of quality control and health & safety. A full UK driving licence and own transport are essential for this site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' automated machine operating experience.
• Experience in manufacturing/production environments.
• Experience with machine setups and fault finding.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor automated production/assembly machinery.

Machine Operator – Chesterfield

£13.89 per hour | 4 On 4 Off | Days & Nights

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Machine Operator to join a busy, modern manufacturing business based in the Chesterfield area.

This is a long-term opportunity for someone with previous automated production or manufacturing experience, confident operating machinery, carrying out changeovers and identifying mechanical faults.

The Role:

• Operating and monitoring automated production and assembly machinery
• Setting up machines and carrying out changeovers and adjustments
• Monitoring production output and maintaining quality standards
• Carrying out basic mechanical fault finding and first-line maintenance
• Identifying product defects and reporting issues
• Completing production paperwork and maintaining a clean, safe working area

Hours & Pay:

• £13.89 per hour
• 4 on 4 off continental shift pattern
• 2 x 12-hour days (6am – 6pm)
• 2 x 12-hour nights (6pm – 6am)
• 4 days off

What We're Looking For:

• Minimum 2 years' automated machine operating experience
• Minimum 2 years' manufacturing or production experience
• Experience with machine setups, changeovers and fault finding
• Good understanding of quality control and health & safety
• Reliable, flexible and hardworking
• Full UK driving licence and own transport essential
