Job summary

AWD Online is seeking a diligent Machine Operator / Production Operative to join a busy manufacturing team in Chesterfield. You will operate machinery, assist with packing and support safe, efficient production, with a focus on hygiene and safety.

Shifts are Monday–Friday with two time options. Salary is £13.61 per hour plus benefits, and the role is full-time and permanent. Previous machine operating experience and strong teamwork are essential.

Join a busy manufacturing team in a hands-on role operating machinery, packing materials and supporting safe, efficient production. Previous machine operating experience, attention to detail and a strong approach to hygiene and safety are essential.

SALARY: £13.61 per Hour + Benefits

LOCATION: Chesterfield, Derbyshire, East Midlands

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS:

SHIFT 1: Monday to Friday / 6.00am to 2.00pm

SHIFT 2: Monday to Friday / 2.00pm to 10.00pm

JOB OVERVIEW

A hands-on opportunity is available for an experienced Machine Operator / Production Operative to support a busy manufacturing operation where safety, quality and teamwork matter.

Working closely with the Factory Manager and wider team, the Machine Operator / Production Operative will help keep production running efficiently while maintaining strict hygiene standards.

The Machine Operator / Production Operative will combine machinery operation, packing, line changeovers and routine equipment checks in a fast-paced environment.

DUTIES

• Machine Set-Up: Set up machinery ready for production cycles
• Machine Operation: Operate machinery safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Equipment Checks: Inspect machinery for defects or malfunctions
• Line Changeovers: Carry out effective changeovers, including product size changes
• Packing and Handling: Pack materials and carry out heavy lifting safely
• Hygiene and Food Safety: Follow strict hygiene procedures to support food safety standards
• Teamwork: Work effectively with colleagues to support production requirements

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

• Previous machine operating experience
• Able to carry out regular heavy lifting and other physical duties safely
• Excellent personal hygiene
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
• Reliable, safety-conscious and able to work effectively as part of a team
