Job summary

Halfords is offering an Autocare Technician/Mechanic apprenticeship (Level 2) across its 700+ garages in England, Scotland and Wales. The programme trains you across diagnostic approaches and vehicle technologies, with practical sessions in our training centre and in‑shop mentoring from a dedicated garage mentor.

Qualifications

• Experience with vehicle diagnostics is beneficial.
• Ability to follow checklists and ensure safety in maintenance tasks.
• Willingness to travel to a central training facility for apprenticeship training.

Responsibilities

• Use diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults.
• Test parts and systems to ensure correct operation.
• Follow checklists to inspect all critical parts of vehicles.
• Carry out bumper-to-bumper overview, service and inspections.
• Maintain electronic systems including onboard entertainment.
• Complete legible paperwork for customers and centre records.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
