Job summary

The Springfields Academy, Reach South Academy Trust, seeks an experienced Autism Support Worker to join our Calne site and deliver a personalised autism-friendly curriculum alongside a teacher.

We prioritise evidence-based approaches, family involvement, and developing functional skills in home and community settings. This role offers part-time, term-time hours with a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of autism and social communication needs and strategies (e.g. TEACCH).
• Understanding of social, emotional & mental health needs and cognitive development.
• Excellent listening skills.
• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships.
• Resilience and ability to take regular responsibility for learning/activities.
• Promote inclusive participation of all pupils in learning and social activities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalised autism-friendly academic and social skills curriculum alongside the teacher.
• Support families to implement functional skills within home and community.
• Lead interventions and support learners with autism.
• Support inclusion of all pupils in learning and social activities.
• Use positive and personalised anxiety management strategies.
