Job summary

The Springfields Academy (North Site) in Calne is seeking an Autism Support Worker to join our team and deliver a personalised autism-friendly curriculum. You will work with teachers to support learners with autism, developing academic and social skills and assisting families to implement skills at home and in the community.

We value compassionate individuals who can build strong relationships, promote inclusion and use anxiety management techniques to support pupils with varying needs.

Qualifications

Good knowledge and understanding of autism and social communication needs with appropriate strategies (e.g., TEACCH).
Experience in supporting pupils with autism and related cognitive/mental health needs.
Excellent listening skills and ability to build strong, trusting relationships.
Ability to promote inclusion and use personalised anxiety management strategies.

Responsibilities

Work alongside the teacher to deliver a personalised autism-focused curriculum.
Support learners with autism to develop academic and social skills.
Support families to implement functional skills at home and in the community at the Calne site.
