Job summary

Milk Education in Morpeth is seeking an Autism Support Worker to join a specialist SEND provision on a term-time basis. You will support pupils aged 5-19 with complex needs, assisting with personal care and adapting activities to suit individual abilities.

You will work closely with teachers to promote engagement, monitor progress, and uphold safeguarding policies. The role emphasizes inclusive practice, collaborative families, and ongoing CPD opportunities within Milk Education.

Qualifications

• Recent experience supporting children or adults with learning disabilities.
• Willingness to provide personal care.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils one-to-one and in small groups, tailored to individual needs.
• Assist with personal care and wellbeing support.
• Work with class teacher to adapt lesson activities and resources.
• Promote engagement and positive learning outcomes.
• Support behaviour management in line with school strategies.
• Build positive relationships to encourage communication and independence.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour and wellbeing.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies.
