Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a SEND Support Worker for a Morpeth area provision supporting pupils aged 5 to 19 with complex SEND. The role focuses on structured routines and clear communication to promote engagement and learning.

The position offers both full-time and part-time options with parking onsite. A patient, calm, and supportive approach is essential, with opportunities to use Makaton and visual supports for non-verbal pupils.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with complex SEND.
• Understanding autism, ADHD and different learning disabilities.
• Enhanced DBS check on Update Service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils aged 5 to 19 with complex SEND.
• Support non-verbal pupils using alternative communication methods.
• Use Makaton, visual timetables, symbols or boards to aid understanding.
• Assist with EHCP-related activities and emotional regulation in learning.
• Maintain a calm, structured learning environment in collaboration with staff.
